Motion Is Life

A Physical Therapist, also known as a Physiotherapist, is a licensed healthcare professional trained in movement science. Physical therapists assess, diagnose, and treat normal movement patterns as well as movement disorders caused by injury, illness, or disability. Their primary goal is to restore function, improve mobility, reduce pain, and help individuals live safely and independently.

The training required to become a Physical Therapist is extensive and closely aligned with modern medical education. Physical therapists receive in-depth instruction in subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, and clinical decision-making, similar to the foundational sciences studied and practiced by medical doctors. This rigorous training prepares them to deliver evidence-based, medically informed care across a wide range of conditions.

Our Clinic

Sachin Desai, PT

Sachin Desai, PT, brings over 37 years of outpatient physical therapy experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the University of Bombay, India. He is a Certified McKenzie Method therapist and has advanced training in multiple physical therapy treatment philosophies.

Sachin Desai, PT, has been proudly serving the Genesee County community since 1992. He began his career as an outpatient physical therapist at the former Saint Joseph Hospital in Flint, which later became part of Genesys Hospital and was subsequently acquired by the Ascension Health system. After 14 years of exclusive outpatient clinical experience, he founded his own private practice in 2006. He has been serving Burton, Flint, Grand Blanc, Davison, and Swartz Creek in Genesee County and regularly treats complex back and neck pain patients as well and orthopedic & sport injury related conditions, including joint replacements and tendon/ligament reconstruction surgical patients.

In addition to his clinical work, Sachin has been actively involved in education. During his 14 years at Genesys Hospital, he served as a clinical instructor for university physical therapy students. He also taught in the Baker College Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program for several years. Dedicated to lifelong learning, he continues to pursue advanced continuing education to remain at the forefront of evidence-based physical therapy care.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sachin expanded his clinic to improve patient access and enhance privacy by adding additional treatment booths. The practice remains a single-location clinic, allowing him to maintain a high level of focus, continuity of care, and personalized treatment for each patient. He continues to personally treat his patients and is deeply committed to delivering exceptional, individualized physical therapy services.

Our clinic is centrally located in Burton, Michigan, and has easy access to all patients. We accept all insured and uninsured patients who are in need of rehabilitation.

PRACTICE DISCLOSURE

We are a 100% independent practice, owned and operated by an experienced Physical Therapist with over 37 years of outpatient clinical experience. We are not a corporate chain or investor-based franchise.

All patients receive one-on-one care from a licensed Physical Therapist at every visit. No unqualified personnel, technicians, or assistants are involved in patient treatment. The Physical Therapist is always on-site and directly involved in treating patients. He does not leave the office to provide home care, nursing home care, or attend business meetings that would place patients in the care of unqualified personnel.

We maintain full clinical and financial independence and have no financial arrangements or referral agreements with any physicians, physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), or chiropractors in the region.

We do not sell products or promote treatment packages for financial gain—our care is guided solely by patient need.

I chose to be an Independent Physical Therapist to provide quality service at an affordable price, one-on-one, at one location, and easy access to all patients with no corporate or investor pressure to generate more revenue.

Independent Physical Therapist

Medicare defines an Independent Physical Therapist (PT) as one who operates their own practice (solo, partnership, or group) with their own office space, bills Medicare directly for services provided in that space or the patient's home, and meets specific enrollment criteria, essentially functioning outside of a hospital or clinic setting for billing purposes, maintaining their own hours, and abiding by all Medicare Part B rules, including documentation and supervision requirements.

In simple terms, there is no “Middle Man” profiting in this arrangement. No corporate franchise and investors (No doctors, chiropractors, lawyers, nurses, insurance entities, and so on profiting from this arrangement). That means, there is no hidden cost and no over-billing.

Our Philosophy

A man running on a trail covered with fallen autumn leaves surrounded by trees with yellow and orange foliage.

Move Better. Live Better.

The United States leads the world in pain medication use and back and joint surgeries—yet too many people wake up every day stiff, sore, and limited by pain.

Aching backs. Painful knees. Stiff necks and shoulders are considered part of your life. Joint injuries, joint and tendon surgeries, and joint replacements are on the rise. For many, it’s become normal. Post-surgical loss of function as well as failed surgeries are common.

Modern medicine saves lives, but pills and procedures alone don’t restore quality of life. People are living longer, but with a poor quality of life for the rest of their lives.

The real question is:

How do you want to live? Working your entire life and spending your hard-earned money to pay medical bills? What kind of life do you want to live?

Do you want to stay active, independent, and engaged as you age?
Do you want to move with confidence, not fear pain?

It does not have to be this way!

At our practice, we focus on movement—because motion is life. Our experienced Physical Therapist helps you reduce pain, restore mobility and strength, and teaches you how to prevent future injuries through proven movement science.

We don’t just treat symptoms. We help you stay active, independent, and confident in your body.

Move better. Stay active. Keep moving.

MOTION IS LIFE, MOVE BETTER”

Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

We do not manufacture online reviews, nor do we offer incentives—such as gifts or co-pay or deductibles discounts to patients in exchange for positive feedback. We also do not engage in deceptive marketing practices, including the use of artificial intelligence to generate misleading images or videos for promotional purposes.

You will never see us advertise with exaggerated or hollow claims such as “advanced technology,” “the only state-of-the-art facility,” “community leader in quality care,” or “trusted and ranked number one in the county.” Such language may attract attention, but it means little when it comes to genuinely serving people in need. Our social media presence is intentionally limited, and we do not rely on marketing companies for constant content posting. Our focus remains on patient care—not on exaggerated or promotional marketing practices.

We do not sell products or promote treatment packages for financial gain—our care is guided solely by patient need.

Our work speaks for itself—through integrity, honesty, and care delivered with purpose.
